How we handle data across the Poolsignals platform — and why self-hosting keeps yours in your control.
Last updated: August 21, 2026
This policy explains what data Poolsignals (“Poolsignals”, “we”, “us”) handles when you use our website and our realtime platform, and the choices you have. Poolsignals plays two roles: we are the controller of the account and billing data you give us directly, and a processor of the end-user content that our customers route through the platform on their users’ behalf.
Poolsignals is built to run on infrastructure you control. When you self-host, your messages, calls and media stay in your own environment and are not sent to or stored by us. In that model we do not have access to your end-user content — a core reason teams choose Poolsignals over a closed box.
Where the law requires a legal basis (e.g. the GDPR), we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a secure service, your consent where applicable, and compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Poolsignals — such as cloud hosting, payment processing and email delivery — under contracts that limit them to our instructions. A current list of sub-processors is available on request.
We protect data with encryption in transit and at rest, per-tenant isolation, least-privilege access controls and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, but security is central to how the platform is designed and operated.
We keep account data for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal, tax and security obligations. Customer end-user data is retained according to each customer’s configuration and instructions, and deleted or returned on request or when our agreement ends.
Where data is processed in another country, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights for data we control, contact us. If you are an end user of an app built on Poolsignals, the app’s operator is the controller of your data — please contact them, and we will support them as their processor.
Poolsignals is a developer platform and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
